Boobs Glorious Boobs
As I'm sure you have worked out by now from all the pictures you will have seen of me - I have big boobs! I've always had big boobs.
I still remember the day my older sister came into my room and told me that I needed to ask mum for a bra. Turns out I was already a B Cup!
I also remember the day a colleague / friend of mine at the clothes store I was working in as a teenager found out my cup size and then proceeded to dance around the store (after closing!) with a bra in the same cup as mine on her head announcing to everyone that she could wear my bras as a hat!
Having big boobs has its good and bad points but one of the hardest is trying to find bras (and swimwear!!) that fit. It was never a joyous occasion (just ask mum about the 'ripple effect' test I used to do to work out if a bikini would allow me to run down the beach in it or not!) until I discovered Bravissimo - www.bravissimo.com
They are a god send to all big boobed women out there and what makes things even better is they don't charge a tonne extra just for the tiny bit of extra fabric they have to use. When I first came over to Australia from the UK I used to order my bras from Bravissimo and have them shipped over but I'm now overjoyed at the number of retailers who are slowly getting on the band wagon and have finally recognised that just because you have big boobs does not mean that you also have a large waist. Target is the most recent one to embrace the boob. I can't wait to check out their range (although I won't be posting the pics on here!!).
If anyone out there knows any other great big boob shops feel free to let me know!

Best of the Week
Little late with my best of the week this week but as they say - better late than never!
First up, I LOVE bright colours so fell in love with this top as soon as I saw it
Top is from David Jones and skirt and wedge sandals are 'oldies but goodies'.
I inherited this dress from my mother-in-law. I wasn't sure whether it suited me or not as it's quite different from what I would normally wear but I think it works really well with this chunky belt and it was super comfy and cool to wear.
And finally...
Old Topshop denim skirt teamed with this amazing new top I bought (nice and cheap) from ValleyGirl.
Slowly trying to embrace 'younger' shops and thoroughly enjoying teaming my new purchases with stuff I've had for ages to reinvigorate my wardrobe.
As always - let me know what you think!

Beauty Cheat
I have never been one to wear lots of make-up and have always been fairly lucky with my complexion. However as I have got older (I swear having a kid has been the catalyst for my wrinkles!) I have been relying a little more on a dash of make-up to boost my confidence at work and in social settings. I still go the occasional day with no make up on however.
My mornings are pretty crazy, my 3 year old often sleeps in and has to be woken in the morning (despite going to bed at 7.15pm) and I feel so guilty doing it that I let her sleep until the latest possible moment. Of course, this then causes problems and it's a mad rush out of the door in time to get the train! For this reason (and if I'm honest I'm also a bit lazy in the make-up department) I have to have a quick and easy make-up routine.
Recently I discovered the most amazing beauty treat that has sped up my make-up routine tenfold - Arbonne Intelligence CC Cream. And before you ask - NO, I am NOT an Arbonne consultant!
This CC cream does my foundation, powder and concealer all in one and I absolutely love it because you can smear it on with your fingers and it takes me approx 1 minute to apply in the mornings. Follow this with a flick of blusher, some lip gloss and some fantastic eye make-up and you're ready to head out the door (after first reminding said daughter 20 times to keep eating her toast, discussing 30 different outfit options with her before she decides on the first one, chasing her round the house with a hairbrush and explaining to her once again why she can't wear her gum boots to childcare in 28 degree heat!).
As much as I cringe about uploading a couple of close ups here's the before and after shots of applying the CC cream (no other make-up at this stage).
Reduced bags, slightly less wrinkles evident and a nice clear base to put my make-up over. I'm really happy with the end result (but not the close up picture!) and the ease and speed at which I can now do my make-up.
Thank you Arbonne!

Best of the Week
Week two of best of the week.
This is a great suit which is really comfortable and was a bargain from Target. Teamed with a great silk look top and some heels I think it looks smart but not stuffy and boring.
Luncheon function at work called for a smart outfit but I was looking for something that would help me stand out at the same time so I chose this dress.
Teaming this with a pair of black sling backs worked but I think it was missing something so I hopped straight on ebay and a black blazer should be winging its way to me soon (been after one for ages but I hadn't found one I liked so resorted to internet shopping!). Hopefully that will finish the look nicely for next time.
My casual outfits for this week:
(excuse the close up of the bin I was using to prop my camera up with!! Photography practice is needed it would appear!)
Love this outfit (although I got a little hot by the end of the day). Using my Dotti 3/4 length jeans again but teaming it with a grey vest top and this great knitted vest (a hand me down!). Vogue sunglasses finished the look, backed up by my stripy ballet shoes from Kmart.
And the last outfit...
Red maxi dress which I've had for years (black vest top underneath so when my daughter drags on my dress - as she so often does - I don't flash my bra at everyone!) To finish the look off I've got Kmart beaded thongs on and this great Kmart bracelet (which is about 6 bracelets in one!)...
I also tried something different with my hair this weekend by doing a braid at the front. I haven't quite mastered it yet though so it wasn't worthy of a close up but maybe sometime soon.
So there you have it - my best of the week this week. Let me know your comments and I hope you'll come back next week!

My inspiration
Before I go any further, I do need to tell you a little about my inspiration for starting this blog. I have been thinking about doing it for quite some time but the catalyst has been my discovery of Natalia over at manouvellemode. If you haven't already checked her blog out then you really should as she's full of fantastic advise for those of us who want to look fashionable but also need practical outfits.
I love her advice and tutorials and I can only hope that one day my blog is anywhere near as well put together and read as hers is.
Make sure you check her out!

The Best of the Week
Each week I’m going to aim to upload
a couple of pictures of some of the outfits I have worn that week – The Best of
the Week. Feel free to comment and give me advice on what works and what
doesn’t work.
All of my outfits are put together on a budget and they are all aiming to be practical but NOT FRUMPY!
So, the best of the week this week:
I'm lucky that I work for an organisation that doesn't require me to wear a suit everyday to work (I still choose to some days) and I love a bit of colour so this top won me over as soon as I saw it.
Black suit pants (purchased from a Charity Shop!) and this great red shirt from Kmart. ballerina pumps are also from Kmart and are very handy for the mad dash from the train station to the office!
I discovered these 3/4 length jeans online and nipped into the shops in my lunch break to be pleasantly surprised that they actually had them in store - they were just what I had been looking for and are the perfect spring time weekend outfit.
3/4 length jeans - Dotti Sale, Yellow and Grey vest top from Kmart and White Daisy Vest top also from Kmart. Silver sandles (last season) from Ruby Shoes.
I quickly changed into this outfit after work one evening for a bite to eat. This skirt has to be one of my favourites at the minute.
I was invited to a 'Postie' party and was really impressed by how much they had that was suitable for 'younger' people. Grabbed this skirt from their Spring/Summer 2014 collection (most expensive thing i've bought in a while but I will definitely get some use out of it!) and teamed it with a bright blue vest top (I think this one might be from Kmart too!!) and some cream and perspex wedges.
That's my best of the week! I'd love to know what you think.

Frumpy to Funki
Well here goes, I have spent my
entire adult life (I'm nearly 32) and most of my life as a teenager feeling
frumpy and unfashionable and I have decided it is now time I try and change
that. This site isn't about me going on a diet to become a 'skinny mini', as
let's face it, I've been on a diet for over 15 years one way or another so
that's unlikely to ever happen. But what it's about is me making a stand and
committing to making the best of the way I look.
No more ill-fitting outfits, no more
avoiding mirrors (yes, that's right - I lived without anything more than a hand
held mirror for 4 years!), no more 'oh, I'll just shove that on - it'll do'. I
will make a conscious effort to make the best of what I've got and go from
frumpy to funky in a practical (come on - I'm still a mum!) but fashionable
way.
It's not going to be easy, and I'm
not going to change my habits overnight but I am going to make a conscious
effort. I'll share with you some of the outfits / make-up styles / hairstyles
etc. that I try along the way as well as a little bit about my life, how I came
to be where I am and how this commitment to the way I look changes my attitude
towards myself.
Thanks for coming along for the
ride!!
